Cynthia was raised in a teacher’s family and she graduated from Nanjing Normal University, China in 1993. She immigrated to Canada together with her husband in 2001. Before she came to Canada, she was an high school ESL teacher in Nanjing Foreign Language School in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Cynthia and her husband currently have two daughters, Grace and Michelle. Grace is a Grade 10 student in a Burlington High School and Michelle is in Grade 4 in an elementary school.
After working in the financial industry for over 10 years, Cynthia realized her passion was still in educational field. She resigned from her pervious company and became actively involved in working with international students. She hopes to use her past experience as an educator to help the international students who come to Canada to succeed and achieve their goals on their paths to higher level of education.
So far, Cynthia has helped many students successfully enter various universities across Ontario and other provinces in Canada. She provides high-quality guardianship and homestay services to international students. Her patience, enthusiasm and intensive care to the students are an asset to our BRAA students.

I am delighted to welcome you to the Burlington Royal Arts Academy website. Our private academic high school is located in the heart of Burlington, Ontario. BRAA is unique in its concentrated focus on Arts education. Each of our students is provided with an individually tailored education plan and can look forward to small class sizes and an outstanding faculty. We have spent a great deal of time and energy renovating our facility with a new science lab, dance studio and private music practice rooms.
During recent challenging times, BRAA has responded by providing uninterrupted support and live virtual classes for our students. At present, our skilled and devoted staff are already planning and preparing for the fall semester. We are currently registering new families, ordering needed materials and preparing curriculum. This year our students will have more options through our ‘new’ Media Arts program with courses in Animation, Film & Video and Photography. BRAA will be the first to offer a unique animation course for credit. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have or to schedule a private tour.
