Bailey Dalton is the proud founder and artistic director of Imperial Academy of Music (IAM). Her goal is to educate students in music and dance to the best of her abilities through a deep-routed love of music. Teaching and involvement in various arts communities for over ten years, led Bailey towards creating her own academy. She strives to build spaces for artists to feel comfortable, motivated and positive about their journey through music. Our Academy strives to create an environment where every student is treated as an individual. A program is developed through individual learning goals and needs. IAM believes that the Arts are more than just learning notes and rhythms. It is a personal, intimate practice and form of personal expression. While teaching students the skills they need to progress as a musician or performer, we also see it as crucial to get to know our students beyond music so we can push them to know and reach their full potential. Imperial Academy of Music also goes by the short form of I AM, meaning that each student is a complete individual artist. Whether the student feels powerful, strong, quirky, whatever it may be-we take huge pride and commitment to ensure each student discovers and radiates who they are as a unique artist.
Bailey Dalton is a graduate of the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts and a Triple Threat performer. At Randolph, she was trained extensively in voice, acting, dance (musical theatre, jazz, tap, ballet) and theory. Bailey has been involved in music since she was born. She grew up singing as well as playing guitar and piano in her father’s band and continued to pursue her passion through musical theatre in high school and post-secondary. After graduating, Bailey found a real love for teaching the Arts. Hearing her students finally hit that high C or play their piece in perfect time is so rewarding. Bailey started teaching out of her home studio for 3 years as well as at Brantford Collegiate Institute as their Specialized High Skills Major Musical Director for 3 years and is in now in her 3rd consecutive year at Elite Music Academy. Bailey works Theatre Ancaster as a choreographer for their Stage 3 Teen Program and as Music Director for their Stage 2 summer camp. She also runs Elite Music Academy’s Musical Theatre program in the capacity of Producer, Choreographer and Director. Bailey also choreographs for Ancaster High’s Musical Theatre Program.
