Animation Artist and Guest Lecturer
Xinjun Xiong is both an artist and teacher working at the Central Academy of Fine Arts Animation in China. He has long been engaged in the teaching, research and creation of experimental animation, contemporary experimental images, installations, paintings and other varieties of arts. From 1997-2001 he studied at fine arts at Tsinghua University receiving a Bachelor of Arts in design.
From 2003-2006 he continued his studies at Peking University, receiving a masters of digital arts from the school of software and microelectronics. Xinjun Xiong is a member of the International Animation Association (ASIFA). Since 2000- 2005 Xinjun Xiong has hosted 12 of his own art exhibitions. In April 2019, Burlington Royal Arts Academy was thrilled to host a lecture for our students on “Experimental Animation” where Xinjun shared the highlights of his student’s work, including recently nominated submissions from the Academy Awards (Oscars).
2007 Rewarded “Best Instructor” by Beijing Film Academy Animation
2007 Student’s animation received an award for Best Visual Effect in 7th Animation Festival.
2008 Student’s graduation animation project won the top prize in the China Central Academy Of Fine Arts
2009-2014 9 animation students won awards in recognized international animation festivals
